This weekend, I’ll be joining many of the top social media-savvy moms in the most magical place on Earth for an amazing 3-day conference. The Social Media Moms Celebration at the Walt Disney World Resort, in its 2nd year, promises to be an exciting, informative and inspirational event on so many levels. From the guest speakers to the networking and socializing, the Social Media moms will be fantastic, only heightened by the backdrop of the Grand Floridian Resort and of course, Cinderella’s Castle and The Magic Kingdom!
I’m looking forward to meeting good friends and making new ones as we gather to hear Chris Brogan (a huge hit from last year’s conference), Rene Syler and Susan Egan, guest speakers with amazing, diverse resumes. Chris Brogan is a New York Times bestselling co-author of Trust Agents, and a featured monthly columnist at Entrepreneur Magazine. Chris’s blog, [chrisbrogan.com], is in the Top 5 of the Advertising Age Power150. Rene Syler has had the opportunity to interview famous faces, political personalities and countless authors during her four year position as one of the anchors of The Early Show at CBS. In March 2007, Rene’s first book Good Enough Mother: The Perfectly Imperfect Book of Parenting was published by Simon Spotlight Entertainment. From that her website, www.goodenoughmother.com was born. Susan Egan has made powerful impressions in theatre, film, television and music. Her Broadway credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cabaret, Triumph of Love, State Fair, and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. She’s been seen on screen in 13 Going on 30, Gotta Kick It Up, voiced the animated characters of “Meg” in Disney’s Hercules, and “Lin” in the Academy Award-winning Spirited Away, among others.
There are so many other events and excursions planned, and I know many moms are bringing their families to make a mini-vacation out of the weekend. Starting Thursday, a Family Dinner will be hosted by the Grand Floridian followed by conference sessions Friday and dinner at Hollywood Studios Friday night. Saturday offers excursions and free time to roam the parks, with dinner at Epcot capped off by the amazing IllumiNations:Reflections of Earth show, a truly fantastic way to end the Social Media Moms Celebration.
