Leading up to National Mom’s Nite Out next Thursday, May 10th, I had a chance to attend a preview event last night at Town Center at Boca Raton (an added bonus as this is in my backyard). As I approached the Nordstrom’s mall entrance, I was overwhelmed by emotion when I saw the banners and signage all over the mall advertising an event I created five years ago.
What started as an idea to give moms a much-deserved night out before the official Mother’s Day holiday has become a collaboration of hundreds of celebrations across the country. National Mom’s Nite Out wouldn’t be the popular girl’s night out it is now without the help and support of moms who organize events in their communities. Based on the preview event at Town Center last night, our event partner Simon Malls has an evening lineup that Moms will love! South Florida bloggers Carrie Wells, Heather Lopez and Leanette Fernandez were among more than a dozen moms who enjoyed a tour from Elisha Sova, the mall’s assistant marketing director.
We enjoyed delicious food from California Pizza Kitchen, including selections from the new adventure dishes-my favorite was the Fire Roasted Chile Relleno that only has 385 calories but tastes like much more. We also chatted with yoga instructor Leslie Glickman who will teach a session next week, followed by a mini-massage at Aveda (heaven) and of course, chocolate! A lovely truffle by Godiva rounded out a fantastic evening. You can check out photos from my sneak peek below!
