Status Update: SheStreams Almost Here

This weekend, my team and I are looking forward to hosting SheStreams Conference 2012 (http://shestreamsconference.com); two days of informative sessions mixed with lots of fun in Fort Lauderdale. Over 150 attendees will gather for this unique conference that will cover “what’s new and what’s next” in social media, technology, video, apps and more. There are so many fabulous speakers and sessions, which will also be covered live from @SheStreamsTV. It’s pretty busy around here, so hopefully I can cover it all! Many of my business colleagues whom I also call friends will be here, and I’m thrilled to be hosting them in my own “backyard”. Here’s a sneak peek at the sessions and speaker bios:

Friday, March 30: After breakfast, my welcome and opening remarks will be followed by keynotes from Teresa Kroll, Chief Entertainment Bear at Build-A-Bear Workshop and Jennifer Labit, Founder of Cotton Babies.

  • Jennifer Labit, CEO/Owner of Cotton Babies, Inc.

Jenn has made her mark on the world by conceptualizing, developing, marketing and producing new diapering products for the baby industry.Her company, Cotton Babies, developed out of a tiny $100 investment; leading the way among natural parenting retailers since 2002. In addition to a busy online operation, Cotton Babies operates retail outlets in St. Louis, Missouri with several new stores opening in other states soon!

In 2005, Jenn and husband, Jimmy, created the bumGenius One-Size Reusable Diaper, a product now distributed on five continents. In 2009, Cotton Babies developed and launched the best selling Flip Diapering System, a hybrid diapering system, and Econobum, a budget one-size cloth diaper. In 2011, Cotton Babies developed and launched Freetime, a one size all in one cloth diaper.

Notable media mentions include Time Magazine, Mothering Magazine, Parents Magazine, Pregnancy Magazine, Consumer Reports, the Washington Post and the New York Times.

In 2008-2009, Jenn served as the founding chair of the Real Diaper Industry Association, a 501(c)6 trade association for cloth diaper retailers, manufacturers, diaper services, media and other parties with an interest in the cloth diaper industry.

  • Teresa Kroll, Chief Marketing and Entertainment Bear, Build-A-Bear

Teresa is responsible for the development and execution of all entertainment, licensing and digital marketing initiatives to enhance brand awareness and Guest engagement. Teresa and her team also manage and direct all strategic partnerships, including product and merchandise licensing, promotional arrangements and third party licensing.

Teresa has been recognized for her many marketing achievements throughout her career. In addition to being named YMCA Woman of the Year, she was also named one of the Top 50 Marketing Executives by Advertising Age magazine. Additionally, under Teresa’s leadership Build-A-Bear Workshop has received many awards, including being named to the FORTUNE Best Companies to Work For® list for the fourth year in a row in 2012. Bearville.com received a 2009 ‘Best of the Web’ award from WiredSafety at the 9th Annual Wired Kids Summit and a 2008 Excellent Product iParenting Media Award. In 2005, the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies made Build-A-Bear Workshop Portfolio Company of the Year; it was named one of the International Council of Shopping Centers “Hottest Retailers of 2004″ and the Retail Innovator of the Year for 2001 by The National Retail Federation.

Teresa also serves on the Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation – St. Louis Chapter and the Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation.
